Two additional models of the quietrevolution helical design are currently in development:
The qr12 will be our larger model of turbine, standing approximately 12m high and 7m in diameter. It is expected to generate between 45,000 and 55,000kWh on a decent wind site. We are working with a number of clients on large-scale building-integrated projects including the qr12 and other large bespoke qrs. The large model will be produced to order initially, before being put into regular production in 2012. Please contact us if you would like to be kept up to date on development on or you have a project pre 2012 that you would like to discuss.
We have also had a lot of interest in our smallest model the qr2.5, standing approximately 2.5m high and 2.5m in diameter. It is expected to generate between 3,000 and 4,500kWh per annum on a decent wind site. This size of turbine will be appropriate for domestic use in locations where there is a sufficient windspeed e.g. 5m/s as a minimum annual mean. This turbine will also connect to the grid via a single phase supply. Costs are yet to be confirmed but we are currently estimating around £10,000 for a single unit. The development of the qr2.5 will follow the larger qr12 turbines and so it is not expected to be in production until after 2012. Again, please do contact us if you would like to register your interest and be sent information on costs and availability when we have it.
